Advantages of UI
a. A Long Tradition and a Sizable Campus
The University of Idaho was established in 1889 and has a distinguished history of offering a wide variety of undergraduate programs. It is also the state of Idaho's primary institution for graduate education and research.
The sprawling University of Idaho campus covers nearly 1,350 acres. The university owns more than 8,000 acres of forest land, which serves as a teaching and research laboratory for students and faculty from numerous academic disciplines.
b. A Safe and Perfect Setting and a Friendly Atmosphere
The University of Idaho is located in the town of Moscow, in the north-western corner of Idaho. Moscow is a typical university town, with a population of about 35,000. Of the more than 13,000 students enrolled at the university, a large percentage of the student population hail from other parts of the United States, including many from mid-western USA. Students at the university are friendly, well-adjusted individuals with a strong sense of community. As a result, the University of Idaho has been named as one of the safest campuses in the USA.
c. A Wide Selection of Subject Choices
There are a total of nine colleges in the University of Idaho, offering 154 academic majors at the undergraduate level. In addition students have the opportunity to pursue their masters and doctoral degrees at the university, where they have the option of choosing from 100 different areas of specialization. The colleges include: Agriculture, Art and Architecture, Business and Economics, Education, Engineering, Forestry, Wildlife and Range Sciences, Law, Letters and Science, and Mines and Earth Resources.
d. Academic Excellence
University of
Idaho has been named one of America's Top 50 universities. Kiplinger's
Personal Finance magazine has recently ranked University of Idaho 48th
among the 100 best public colleges and universities in the United States.
In the survey of more than 500 US public colleges and universities,
Kiplinger's placed University of Idaho in the same top category as other
distinguished universities such as, The Ohio State University, University
of Washington, University of Wisconsin Madison, University of California
Berkley and UCLA.
The University of Idaho has a long established tradition of academic excellence. Among all universities in the USA, the University of Idaho is particularly well known in the areas such as, Agriculture, Forestry, Engineering (including Computer Science), and Mines and Earth Resources. The College of Engineering consistently attracts the brightest students from around the world. The College strives to be in the forefront of theoretical and applied research, and research centers like the Center for Applied Thermodynamic Studies and the Institute for Materials and Advanced Processes allow students to interact with faculty to learn more about the most current developments in their fields.
The average pass rate for engineering students taking the Fundamentals of Engineering Examination (the first step toward licensing as a professional engineer) exceeds the national average by 30 percentage points (91.3 vs 62.8 since 1983). In fact, the pass rate was 100% in 1998! Engineering students regularly place very well in regional and national competitions, such as the national APS Electric Vehicle race held in Phoenix, Arizona (second place in 1999; highest place for a university team) and the International Environmental Design contest (first place in 1996, and second place in 1997 and 1998).
University of Idaho students have won Fulbright scholarships, Rhodes scholarships and Truman scholarships.
e. Small Classes
The University of Idaho employs more than 750 full-time professors for a student population of 13,000. As a result, the university has one of the highest professor to student ratios in the USA (1 professor to 17 students). Being a statewide institution, the University of Idaho offers affordable education (low tuition fees). At the same time, students can expect a high quality of instruction, similar to that found in the more expensive Ivy League universities.

Design
The partnership between Royal Canadian College and City University
currently focuses on providing students with an opportunity to obtain a
Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree
at City University. Royal Canadian College will be responsible for offering
lower-division post-secondary transfer credit courses to students in the University Transfer
Program. In order to obtain a City University Bachelor degree, transfer

Why City
University?
a. Preparing Individuals for the Complexities of Today's
Ever-Changing World
The Bachelor of Science degree at City University is intended to prepare
its graduates for responsible roles within a variety of organizational
settings. All bachelor of science programs build on a solid core of
management education combined with coursework that provides a broad
understanding of the mechanics of business, including a human relations
perspective. The curriculum is designed to afford breadth and depth in
the complexities of governmental, industrial, educational, commercial,
health services and voluntary organizations. In addition, graduates of
the baccalaureate program are well equipped to continue their studies in
the graduate degree programs in a number of administrative, technical
and commercial fields.
b. Open Admissions
City University believes that everyone that desires an education should
have the opportunity to achieve. Therefore, students can begin taking
classes at City University any quarter of the year (Summer, Fall,
Winter, Spring) for most programs. This is consistent with City
University's "rolling admissions" policy.
c. Vancouver Location
City University has a campus located in the vibrant downtown of
Vancouver. Royal Canadian College students transferring to City
University will have the advantage of a seamless transition to a new
institution within the same city.
